Like many young people, I dread budgeting and paying expenses and thinking also about savings and pension.
I have observed that living consciously means not only celebrating in this time but taking care of things at this moment, when they are not huge, rather than wait when they get out of hand. With that in mind, I have a few tips for anyone else who wants to learn how to save money each month from salary.
1. Spend less than you make
OK, this is almost the only tip you need. People spend more than they do not really have, and that is the biggest financial problem of such individuals. Then they end up in a tight corner, and it’s hard to get out of the corner, and they work long hours to keep up with spending beyond their means.
The result is an unhappy life in which they are trying to pay for spending, they don’t need really.
Spend less, work more, worry less, be happier.
2. Try not to get into debt
If you spend less than the salary you make, you won’t be owing, clearly. It’s simple, if you spend less than you make, save the rest. Make sure the saving is deposited automatically in your bank account that happens every payday, and this should be your first and most important thing to do.
This act is non-negotiable. You will be happy as the savings increase, and especially when emergencies come up.
3 If you don’t have the money, do away with that item you are trying to get.
This is one important tip most people (young or old) forget. It might surprise you to know this, you don’t really need a car, so if you can’t pay for it using cash, don’t get a loan. You don’t need fancy clothes, smartphone or go to nice restaurants. If you don’t have the money, find other free means to have fun or get things you need to be done.
4. Make a simple budget.
For some people, budgeting is a difficult thing. List your income, then list your expenditure. If the expenses add up to more than the income, remove some expenses. This will go on to help you determine what’s coming in and leaking out of your pocket.
5. Pay expenses immediately.
That is if you have the money on you, pay off the expense as soon as it comes in. Do this two-minute action immediately, so you don’t have to worry about it later. If you let the expense-paying get delayed, it becomes a dreaded thing, and your expenses begin to become overdue, and then it’s much worse.
That’s all you need to know. If you save, avoid owing (except perhaps a modest loan), and pay off expenses on time, you are good to go.
